St. Supéry Estate Vineyards and Winery is a 100% Estate Grown, sustainably farmed winery located in the renowned Rutherford growing region in the heart of Napa Valley. Dollarhide Ranch is a 1,530+ acre property with steep, rolling hills, some at lands, seven lakes and a vast array of wildlife located in the northeastern hills of Napa Valley. With elevations ranging from 600 – 1,100 feet, we have planted over 500 acres of grapevines, leaving the rest of the property to thrive in its natural state. Aromas of grapefruit and exotic green lime are joined by a delicate thread of pear and a smoky note of new French oak. Opulent grapefruit, lime and lemon citrus avors meld together with the seductive toasted qualities of the barrel maturation. The result is a full, rich mouthfeel along with a subtle creaminess from the extended aging achieved through sur-lie maturation.
Despite good rainfall in December of 2014, January and February of 2015 brought warm, spring-like daytime temperatures with minimal precipitation. Little rain was recorded in March and April and as the temperatures cooled, the fruit set slowly over three weeks. May stayed warm and we experienced signi cant hot spells in June, July and August. Harvest kicked off in late August 2015, and while the yields were light, the quality of our fruit was terri c. Fermentation took place in both stainless steel tanks and in barrels at cool temperatures to maintain and enhance the natural avors. The nal blend was completed after seven months of sur-lie maturation.
